Independent
Theme song:
Amaranth by Nightwish
Physical/Psychological Description:
Tink is your average everyday nine year old with the exception of left side of his face which is covered in electronics including his eye. He was given a telescopic eye after becoming clockwork. For such a young child his life has been filled with loss and devastation, and as a result he has become mature beyond his years. Learning to take pleasure in the small things as a child does, but able to understand the gravity of the situations. This does not inhibit his ability to have a child like glee in everything he does, including his favorite thing: traveling.

Background:
Many people will tell you that where you come from, this remains true when we look back at Galitinke's life, and even before it. His mother and father were both human living in a small village of independents somewhere in the wine country of Italy, owning their own small orchard. One day the couple would walk outside to see large plumes of oily black smoke rising from other farms in the area. Not even barricading the door could stop the encroaching bandits. It was all the man could do to see his wife being beaten and raped before his eyes, but at the end of the day they were both alive, even if the bandits had set up their base of operations in the town hall. From such point on they were forced to pay stipends or be shot down in cold blood. Much to the surprise of the man, the woman had become pregnant by the time the first stipend was due, although her health had not gotten any better and was still in and out of critical condition.
Times were tough in the village during that time, but especially for the couple. They had to continue to pay stipends, which became harder as time progressed due to his wife who belonged in a ICU unit with her developing child. By the time her time had come for the child to be born, the pain was too much and she had died of shock before the birthing had actually taken place. The man felt he only had one option and he fell back onto skills he swore he would never use again so long as he lived. He excavated the baby from his dead mother and before the dying toddler was lost as well the man went into surgery. To create a clockwork in any other circumstances was nigh impossible, but he had successfully saved the child and with it, preformed a miracle. To the people of the village, life went on, even if it was more chaotic than before, though very few could accept the clockwork child. Kids at school called him a freak, the men and women of the market place whispered about how he came to be, and even his father, who was often cradled a bottle of strong wine, became bitter when remembering the bastard child's origin and how it cost him is wife. That, though, wasn't to say the man didn't love the child, but it was a hard life for those who lived in the village, especially when it came time to pay.
When it came time around to pay, you either had enough money to pay the stipend, or you had enough to risk the escape of the bandits. That year a harsh storm had ensured they didn't have enough money for either. When the knock on the door came, so did the pleads, the begging, and the promises of payment soon, but there also came the distinct sound of a gun shot. The child had never experienced death before, as his father tried so hard to keep him safe and innocent as long as possible. So daddy was only sleeping, right? Right?
During the week that followed all the child could do was sit there and look at the body, while the sounds around him grew loud in his ears. On the third night he could swear he heard whispers, on the fifth night it spoke to him directly, and on the seventh night he spoke back. Nothing terrified him more than to see the shadow congeal into a humanoid shape, but the shadow condoled him nonetheless. It told him jokes, it taught him magic, and even gave him a new friend. Eventually the boy asked what was going to happen to him and the shadow told him that soon enough someone would appear to help him along. Soon after, an angel walked in the door and surveyed the scene. It didn't take long for the angel to realize what had happened, ad even less time for the angel to take the young boy in. The orignal plan was to take the boy to nameless, but his careful eye and love for travel saw him easily adopted into the crew were he remains to this day.
