Adam laughed again as he nodded to the server and then her questions. "I had a number of years ta learn it... Granted I learn'd most'a the basic's 'n da first few... it took me roughly a hundred ta master some'a da darker junk.... Full implementation took anoth'r hund'r..." He shrugs and beams brightly. "Let's pray ya nev' piss me off enough ta see the darkness I made..." he just beamed as he seemed to change the subject. "Yer a young'n... serv'n a vamp tha's old as dirt... yet ya think noth'n of it..." He smiled and leaned back, "I watched humans lead the world 'n vamps were jus' legend... it always baffles me meet'n a slave tha' ain' bloodbound..." his gaze turns a little more serious as he sniffs a few times and looks around before his gaze is upon her once more with a soft smile. "Ya don' remember anyth'n?"

Cortana sat there, just looking at the man as he went on about how he went about learning how to be alchemist and progressing his skills. She was a little concerned about what the man could do as she had seen him, with a simple touch, turn a fork to gold and make dishes nearly unbreakable. The way he talked about it made a shiver crawl up her spine for a moment and her chest tighten briefly "Um yes, I do agree. I would hate to anger you for certain" she clears her throat "I never want to anger anyone really."

As the topic changed to the matter of her servitude she relaxes and puts the images of potential threats the man could possess toward her and smiles sadly "I was only a baby when he found me. I have no reason not to believe what he says. He treats me well, I never want for anything. He even gives me an allowance to go and enjoy a show from time to time." she pauses for a moment "But he also has been teaching me some about Yoya and her purposes in the world. He led me toward the path of priesthood of which I am currently learning, as I told you earlier" she gazes into his eyes for a moment before speaking again "You said you know Yoya. How do you know her? Have you met her? I got to meet her once. It was quite a shock"

Adam laughs as he shakes his head, "The firs's a religious man... ta yoya..." he scoffs again and shakes his head. "Ya learn someth'n new ev'ry day..." He catches her gaze once more and smiles. "I knew her when she was human... well human form... Me, her, Dametrius 'n a few others use ta work together ta try 'n bett'r da world..." he shakes his head again and fights back a laugh before leaning further back into his chair and slouching a little. "I know quit'a few gods... almost killed one..." He says with a serious tone as he pulls his chair back up and looks at the steak set before him. "Thanks... I'll probably get anoth'r onna these in a bit..." he said with a grin, the steak was fairly large as he started to cut into it as her food was also brought to her. "Wha' ya think'a yoya when ya met her?"

The man that set before her had her transfixed on him and his words as he spoke about Yoya when she was a mortal. It astounded her to think that gods had once been mortal. Her eyes even lit up even more when Adam mentioned he had worked alongside the great Dametrius and Yoya together. It made her quite giddy like any teenage girl who would have met a member of a band or movie star. "Oh that is amazing." She wished that she could see them all working for the better of mankind. When he mentioned that he knew the gods it just blew her away along with the fact they could even be killed!

When asked about what it was like to have met Yoya she blushes and looks away "well... when I met her I... fainted from the shock and excitement. But while it seemed surreal I felt there was something off and she even commented on it to Dametrius, who had invited me to his box to watch the play with him". She takes a bite of her sandwich once finished talking

Adam was busy cutting his steak and plopping pieces into his mouth as she spoke, the mention of Dametrius and her caused a slight pause but he did not react, just kept going. "Interest'n..." he said between a bit, as he swallowed he simply stared at her again, "I'd stay away from Dame... he's put on the change but he's still the man I know..." he takes a prolonged blink with a heavy breath and lets it out while looking down at his food again with another comment. "do wha' ya will.. but I'd advise ya stay away... seems with all the plays ya ferget'ta read yer history..." He looks at her once more as he chews, another swallow and he finished his thought. "If ya knew wha' he did a couple hundred...hundred?" he seems to look up and thinks before nodding, "Hundred years ago... ya would stay clear..." once more going back to get the last bite of steak he says, "There's a reason he's the leader...." putting it in his mouth he chews and smiles as his plate is grabbed and another steak is plopped down before him. During his eating, Cortana may have noticed his teeth switched more to a canine nature, not just two but all of them, as he ate yet speaking was sometimes with a normal mouth.

Cortana listens to his matter on the subject of Dame, warning her to stay away from him. About history... she knew a bit about human history from the museum but it didn't go into depth about the time of the vampires and when they tried to assume control of the world. Most of the physical history had likely been destroyed or lost to time. "I understand what has happened to an extent. But how can I use history to judge now. If he has changed, why should he have to suffer for things of the past?" is all she said on the matter but she could understand and appreciate his warning.

As he ate it became apparent to her that something was off and it was soon after that she realized that his teeth weren't normal and it caused her to stare for a rather long time before she realized she was staring and looks away "Are you a werewolf?" as she asked it, she thought it made the most sense as she watched him eating the rare steak before her.

Adam seems to relent at her comment, "Noted... still.. noth'n bou' change from him comes withou' some kinda string..." he continued to eat and did notice the stare but seemed to ignore it until her comment. A soft laugh comes from him as he looks up at her, his eyes were a deep gold before they shifted to the blueish purple they were previously. "Nah... notta moon 'n sigh' ta be a werewolf.. like I said... alchemy can make ya close ta god 'n crush ya jus' as fast..." he smiled and his teeth were human. Cutting into the new steak he smiled, "Close tho... but I'm still human..." the piece of steak is now in his fork as he hovers it infront of his mouth. "Least I try to believe tha'..." is all that is said as it's put into his mouth and he chews with a smile.

Cortana smiles as he did accept her part of how she felt about responding to a person's past. It was good to know that he wasn't going to try and continue to speak harshly for now on the matter of Dame. But she did keep his warnings to heart, deciding she would be a little careful around Dametrius should they ever bump into each other again. As he looked at her with those shifting colored eyes, she was a little startled but then slowly nods as he explains that it was alchemy that had done such strange things to him. After a few moments of thought she goes back to eating, drinking down the soup before it got cold and then focuses on her sandwich. She wasn't sure what to talk about now as things seemed to reach an end to their topics.

Awkward silence filled the table for a few minutes, yet appeared almost eternal in length, before Adam chimed it. "gotta jus' ask... wha's the first like?...." he finally said with quirked eyebrows and a quizzical expression. "Been bugg'n me since ya said it..." His steak was already gone, the second one, and he just sat there with a deep crimson dancing in his blue and purple iris, barely noticeable. His beast was on edge with the notion that the first born was more than just alive, but active.

Cortana was relieved as the silence was broken with the inquiry of her master and she looks up from her meal. "The first is a very kind person. He looks after us and makes sure we have good food and a nice place to sleep." She sits up a little more "He also taught me, like I said, about Yoya and how it was by her will I am still alive to this day. I want to give her back what she let me keep." Her smile was honest as she sat there gazing into Adam's own. Lately the first has been busy and away from home most nights. He usually keeps his business to himself"

"I bet" he retorts out as he fights back a smile, looking at his plate. "Sounds like a strange fellow ta be honest but..." he shakes his head, "diff'rn't worlds I guess..." His knife cuts the plate as he looks at it and sets it down, picking up the last little piece of remote food from his plate and sliding the broken plate to the side. "My first was a cock-bag who pray'd on da weak...but..." He seemed lost in thought before he blinked, "Mean first... vamp I...met..." He wasn't that charismatic that he could fake it, the subject was changed abruptly.

Cortana jumps at the sound of the plate breaking and glances down at it as Adam works on cleaning up what morsels were left on it. "I... suppose there are some like that." she seemed a little nervous at what would have caused Adam to break the plate. Was there some underlying anger? She could only guess at what was going through his mind at the moment "I guess it's because of them that humans fight back like they do." she looks down at her sandwich and finishes off the few bites that were left.

His grin is almost wicked as crimson dances between the blues and purples even more fiercely as his gaze locks onto hers and refuses to let it go. "Spot on.. people like tha' cause humans ta hunt'em... but... like I said... Somma the best women'n my life were vampires..." he once more looks down at his plate before leaning back and keeping a dark gaze on her. "My kids'r part vampire caus'a tha' very reason... don' think me'a bias'd hunter... jus' one not lik'n anyone with too much power when they abuse it..." A few moments pass before a soft sigh and deep breath calm him as his mood seems to return to normal as does his eyes. "... sorry fer my behavior.... been on edge lately..."

Cortana didn't know the last time she felt as scared as she did at this moment as Adam's gaze locked on to her. Her chest felt tight and her heart pounded hard. She didn't understand why she felt that way but his gaze looked more predatory than it had in the little time she'd been with him. She started to relax as he looked away for a second only to have that gaze fixed on her again. She goes a simple nod to his comments, not able to think of anything to say for the moment but finally works up a smile as he apologized "what are they like ? Your children"

Adam laughed a little, more so to himself, as he looked to the side and then back to Cortana. "Like their mothers..." A soft yet defeated smile seemed to cross his face now as he leaned back. "Both Dhampires cause I love me them blood suckers... well got one human daughter..." He ruffles his hair with a free hand and leans back. "Got a pseudo adopted daughter from Dametrius cause he ain' tak'n care'a her... 'n my creations'r like children ta me..." He does seem to fight a small laugh. "I gotta lotta kids..."
