William's home wasn't much. It was a somewhat small, two story building, wedged between its similar neighbors. His home proper was on the second floor, while his office resided on the first floor, allowing him to be available at all hours of the day. "I can't say I've ever lived that way, but there again, my life has be donated to extending those of others." He excused himself to get past whoever might be in front of him before reaching the door. The door was a heavy oak, but simple, and only really sported a "sorry, we're closed" sign in its single window. Its hinges creaked slightly as he opened it, inviting his guests inside.
Inside his office, much like the door to it, was plain; apart from the piles of books. Hundreds of thick books on everything from pathology to bioengineering were piled up in the lesser used corners of the room, some as tall as his visitors. Apart from the books, however, everything was clean. He could work from it once again were it not for all the books that cluttered the area. "I apologize for the mess. As I said before, I tried everything I could to save my wife." He explained, somewhat ashamed of the condition of his office. "Ah, but one's office is no place to entertain guests. Follow me, and we can talk in a more relaxed environment." He led them to the door that was opposite the front, which opened to a small set of stairs. Leading them up and to the landing that was his home. Much like the office below, it was humble, but well-kept. "There, now that's better." He said to himself, before turning to his guests. "Now, is there anything I can get for either of you before we start? Any food or refreshment, perhaps?" William was in every way a gentleman, and what sort of gentleman didn't know how to entertain guests?
