Tep’lin ”Devourerkin” My’trith
Who do you work for?:
Independent
Theme song:
Ghost Opera by Kamelot
Physical/Psychological Description:
Tep’lin had a run-in with a severe case of Dry Gangrene, which caused most of his body to be withered. He was eventually cured, but his legs were so terribly affected that his legs had to be amputated, as they served no purpose anyway. This causes him to be somewhat similar in appearance to the rare extraplanar undead called Devourers, hence his title. Lost souls gather under him, furthering this similarity. He wears a red cowl with a face-obscuring hood.
Tep’lin is rather cold, and takes his job as a sort of ferryman for souls very seriously. Surprisingly however, lost souls seem drawn to stay with him, even when he shows them how to move on. These souls manifest as white orbs that reside in his cowl. When needed, Tep’lin can open his robe and allow the souls to fly out. Seeing any sort of aggressor towards their caretaker, the souls become agitated, and this agitation manifests in a bright flash of light.

Background:
Tep’lin was born to a rather modest family. Living off the land in a small cottage in the few wilds that still existed in Germany, he was taught of the importance of the natural order at a young age, as well as his part in it. His life was well on its way for him to become a prominent member of Etherial society, if not for one detail. He apparently had several clots in the smaller veins in his body. This resulted in a severe case of Dry Gangrene. The effects were widespread and lasting. By the time he was finally Healed, he had completely lost the use of his legs, as well as most of the lower half of his body. His lower body was amputated, as it could do nothing but possibly cause him to more easily contract infections. Rather than allow himself to be strapped to a wheelchair for the rest of his life, Tep’lin instead took up the art of Flight, and began wearing a cloak to cover up his horrendous looking body. Why he specifically chose red is known only to him.
Despite the effects of the crippling disease, Tep’lin did his job of watching over the souls of the dead as they passed on into the Afterlife almost flawlessly. One day, however, he discovered a soul that would not pass on, despite his guidance. It seemed as if his own brokenness had either intrigued the soul or caused it to feel some kinship to him. Regardless of the reason, Tep’lin knew he couldn’t allow the soul to wonder freely, and so took it in under his cloak, protecting it from outside forces. This began to become a pattern, as he refused to allow any soul that refused to move on to wander, and those who refused to move on seemed content to stay with him.
Nowadays, Tep’lin takes his trade across Europe. Whenever people finds souls that refuse to move on, he goes to it, subdues it if necessary, and either leads it on or adds it to the others under his cloak.

Do you have what the vamps like?:
O-
While he understands and speaks German very fluently, he primarily speaks Druidic, and is typically a source of confusion for most people. Because he takes his job seriously, his devotions lie both to the realms of Nature and Death. Although Tep’lin has Automotonophobia, there is a special spot for those creatures that defy the cycle of nature, like Undead. Rather than being afraid of them, they enrage him, and he takes any steps he can to release the souls from their unnatural cages given to them by Necromancers.
