The Bird and the Worm (open)

["Dark"]

There was a lot going on, and thanks to Dark's single-tracked mind he was able to zone out most of what everyone else was saying. It all seemed a blur to him, more so when the bullet pierced his skull in a cloud of gun smoke. A smirk developed on his lips just seconds before an echoing laugh as the blood from the wound dripped down his face. "Dumbshit" he muttered and then looked over to Lux. "I'll skin you if you kill my sister...", his eyes shifted emptily back towards Logan. The illusion of the god vanished then, a disembodied voice challenging a, "You wanna play, BITCH? Let's fucking play". The sense of terror sat over the human's head like he had someone watching his every move; in the distance another god of Insanity could be seen trailing into an alleyway, a cigarette being the only light glanced at his departure. This was going to be fun. For Dark.

[Logan Storm]

"Fuck, fuck, FUCK!" Logan moves into a small apartment. As quick as he came in, he closed the blinds and doors to the entire place. Then he began moving around the room with blinding speed. He was moving so fast that no one with regular eyes could see just what he was doing. He moved to every corner of the house, tore apart furniture then remade it, all within the time span of one minute. That was the most helpful thing about haste, he could move fast and finish in seconds to minutes what most could finish in twelve hours.

When his haste ability finally wore out, he stopped dead in the kitchen and began on another project. "I have to be the one who deals with a god. ME! Out of all the people. Lux decides to destroy an entire city and he gets off with a slap on the wrist. Me, I get blamed at firing at the feet of a couple of people and I get a fucking super creature chasing after me," Logan grudgingly mur-mured to himself as he pulled out all the guns at his disposal. He looked like he was making something, taking apart the weapon and remaking it like he did the furniture. "And it wasn't even my fucking fault, I was just following orders. I tried to get someone else to do it but they were like, 'no I can't go, it's too much danger. You go since you are so experienced.' A bunch of pansy asses, everyone of them."

Logan looked around and made sure that every window and door was closed and locked, even the front doors, then he moved to the small restroom, closing and locking the restroom doors then sitting down on the toilet. His new weapon was in his hand and rubbing against his forehead, showing that he was a tiny bit stressed. "And now look at me, challenging a god, A FUCKING GOD, to a fight.... Me, a mortal with only little abilities. How stupid.... How stupid am I for even getting into this shit. How stupid are the fucking gods for being pissy at the fact that a few people where shot at. A FEW! And they aren't even dead. IT WAS A WARNING SHOT, for christ sake. No one was even hurt, but oh no. You shot at a god, so you die. But I wasn't even thr fucker that shot!"

He took deep breather, trying his hardest to calm himself down. For some reason he was scared, a little bit more than he was at the beginning and his heart was pounding too fast for his comfort. He dug in his pocket and began to pull out a pack of cigarettes. It had only two smokes inside, just the amount he needed. He took both cigarettes and placed them in his mouth, then pulled out his lighter. He tried to light it, but it would not show a single spark. It was out of juice, which made Logan out of patience. In a fit of rage the human threw the fire devise to the wall, making a large bang. He sat back down and began rubbing his temple again, trying to find other means of calming himself down. That is when he heard Lux words, the leader ordered everyone to abandon the mission and head home. "He's safe..... He's safe....." Logan began to silently tell himself. "Mission accomplished..." 

["Dark"]

Dark smirked quietly to himself as he watched the human scuttled about like an ant. It was a good reaction to have, sheer terror, because the god of Insanity was the one god no one ever wanted to meet let alone anger. It was with stealth that Dark had hid himself; how he found the place was easy with Logan about to lose his wits--not the mention the amount of noise he was making.

With the dimmed lighting already present in the building, an eerie silence filled the gap. The sound of glass shattering and otherwise someone moving about the place violently could be heard, as well as the heavy footsteps accompanying it. It was common sense to connect the two as someone who wasn't happy and in fact very wrathful. One such object struck the bathroom door with a loud thud. "Ya fucking pansy..." Dark's voice taunted abnormally low at a near grating level. The footsteps stopped for a moment and then started towards the bathroom, each thud of his steel-toed boots seeming louder as he approached the door...and then once again silence.

[Logan Storm]

Every time a new sound was made, Logan would jump then tighten his neck in frustration of the demon having a little bit of fun with him. Though Logan didn't like it, it meant he had a small chance of enjoying life while the monster toyed with him. "So tell me..." He began looking towards the door. He spoke loud enough for the being who was ouside of the room to hear. "What the hell are you? A God...... or mortal having fun? And don't say my worst nightmare because that is something only a dumbass would say."

He placed the two cigarettes between his fore, middle, and ring finger. He looked at them for a while, waiting for a responce from the monster that tried to appear horrifying. He tried telling himself he was not scared, but that wasn't true. He had all the fear in the world for this being. This thing that seemed to enjoy playing with his emotions. Logan didn't really like it, but even the mentally retarded could admit that fear was in their mind. When an unstopable being was targeting you, you could do nothing but shit your pants and wait for death. "And tell me. Is it possible to......To kill you?"

["Dark"]

A sick laughter jumped about the bathroom. The god of insanity was having too much fun with this. The light that was on in the bathroom flickered several times before finally giving in, the filament in it burned out. But what replaced it was an unnatural darkness, so thick that no mortal could see through it."Sit" he demanded, the feeling of paralysis would overcome Logan; cold hands wrapped around the human's wrists forcing him hard against the wall. "A mother fucking god. Oh...and you have that shit all wrong", his smirk noticeable through his tone,"I'm everyone's nightmare". Pain and heat would then spread up the mortal's arms cooking him very slowly from the inside out--though Dark wasn't going to kill him just yet.

[Logan Storm]

Logan looked around the room for an escape route, realizing that he was trapped between a wall and a sick being. There was nowhere he could go. No window or open area in the apartment restroom for him to climb through, only white walls and beautiful towel decorations. Who ever lived in this place before, really loved to show off their money, what little they had. He couldn't run outside that door either, because what he would meet would be a long hallway to the living room. As soon as he stepped out, he would need to go to the right because the left had nothing but a closed wall. There was only one bedroom in this place which would be on the left, if he moved down the hallway. His only sure exit had within it a monster trying to kill him. He was a little mouse, backed to a wall with no hopes of surviving.

He closed his eyes as the wicked laughter flowed into his ears. The lights were starting to flick, which led Logan to getting up and moving towards the lighter, knowing that soon he would be covered in darkness. The lighter went on and the flames rose, but vanished as soon as the lights went out. Logans world turned ominous as the beast moved in. He moved to the toilet and sat down with one hand behind the toilet seat. Soon, the word 'sit' sung into his ear, the demon preventing his body from moving anymore. But he could still think, and he could still speak. It was not poison or fear that made him unable to move, it was magic. Logan soon found hands colder than ice taking strong hold of his wrists, then his body being flung to the nearest wall, while words, terrifying and viciouse words, came from the monster he said he would kill.

"A mother fucking god," it said in his ear, making him know just exactly what he was afraid of. It continued, its words only seeming to terrify him more. When it was done, it began to burn his arms, shooting pain through his entire body. Logan knew just as well as any would know, that this was the wrong god to piss off, but that wouldn't stop him form pissing it off even more. After screaming at the sensation of the fire, he began laughing. It was an amused laugh with a sickening smile. "You know, for a mother fucking god... You really are stu-"

An alarm. An alarm was what was next herd as explosion rang through the house seconds after. But it wasn't a tiny explosions, it was a large and body mutilating explosions. It first started with the one that was hidden in the darkness behind the toilet in the restroom. Soon followed, the ones he spread around the house when he was moving extremely fast to the corners. They were unseen and silent, made specifically to be hidden well. Logan took these eplosions from a friend of his long ago. He wanted them to be made to level an entire building. They were hidden inside his vest, which made moving around with them even worse for him, luckily they were a little sturdy. Originally, he was to blow the helicarrier, the one Lux was in, sky high, destroying him along with many others, but blowing up a God would do. When the bombs went out, the entire building went with it, not one of them could possibly escape its explosion radius, not one of them could possibly survive its massive power.

["Dark"]

The screams were music to his ears. No matter how many times he had done it in the past, each time someone begged it was a new experience for him--sending chills down his spine in the most pleasurable way. It was then he tightened his grip and leaned in "SHUT YOUR FU--". An alarm. It split the silence sharply and that was when time seemed to slow. Glancing back at where the sound originated from a large blast sent shrapnel and a force hard enough to shred muscle from bone slammed against him. Then he felt the extreme agony of his bones being crushed to powder from being in such close proximity. Dark had no time to scream, millions of metal dagger-like shards embedding into his skin from all sides as the remainder of the bombs were set off one by one. The last thing he saw was his vision blur, and with the shock of white light everything he knew of life vanished. Of course this all seemed slow but in reality it took only seconds. The only remainder of his presence on earth was a flock of hundreds of illusion ravens that desperately tried to escape the blast as the entire building collapsed in on itself and they too were reduced to ash.

[Varius Helviath]

Varius had left his throne room in a fit of rage as the souls of the two still lingered with their bodies, the pain was unimaginable for usually varius reaps them before the pain lingers. Slowly their souls felt a tightening grip upon their necks while the earth shook, it actually shook under the rubble of the building as long tendril like legs broke free. Stepping gently onto the earth spiders swarmed from the fissure the god of death created as he pulled himself from the earth. A male arachne of enormous size looked like he had turned into a lich from the death and decay upon him. "Whaaaaat.... doo you.... Think....... you are...." he said as he pulled himself fully, their bodies slowly rebuilt themselves as he made them feel each and every tendon break and attach, every bone put into place, he made them feel everything as he held their souls. A feeling of oblivion teetering with their cores as they could see pure abyss behind the god of death's frame yet the pain was felt still. "Mortal, you are a fool, but your bravery is.... human..." His gaze was not there as hollow sockets were all he had, "Chaos... you know better..."

Once their bodies were remade the souls were dangled a little longer. Varius pulls logan up to his face as he could feel his soul being sucked into the abyss above the god, "You get one..." Even if logan did not have a body yet, he could feel the chill of death hit every nerve of his soul before it is forced back into the body. Pulling dark up to his eyes he just glares, "You know better than to sink to their level... I will have words with Nadja as well... remember who you are, not what you were..." With that Dark was restored as well first before the spark was once more returned to him. Varius' leg pierces Logan's right shoulder as a pain shoots through him, as if being slowly carved out a tattoo seems to be forced upon him. The design is black and purple and seems to waver between the two colors over time. It is a web in design that covers his whole shoulder with the central point being where he stabs the human. "Do not be so foolish next time... we care for you mortals, but stupidity insults us..."

Turning to Dark he does the same things, the marking is the same as he spoke, "You are one of our greatest... be the greatness you possess, not the pride you cling to..." With that Varius starts to decay into legions upon legions of spiders that crawl all over the two bodies, into the building, everywhere. Varius is gone but it could be felt that he was stillw atching.

[Logan Storm]

His body was torn to pieces, destroy by his final resort. At least he did not go alone. He was taking a God down with him, one of darkness and fear. One who's very name probably brought burden to his enemies and friends. The monster was cruel indeed, with hands of fire and soul of darkness. As Logan felt his skin tear and his bones break, he saw in his very eyes, the demon doing the same thing. He said it, he said it as though he was reading the future. "Excuse me while I kill a God." And that glorious and powerful God that Logan said was going to die, was now dying, the only price to be paid was his life.

His eyes slowly opened to the realization that he was now a soul, slowly being sucked into an unknown area. "I wonder where this goes," he said with nothing but fear in his voice. His train of bodyless thought was interrupted by the feeling of hands grabbing his neck. When he looked around, he was at his destroyed grave. "What the hell..." He whispered to himself, as he looked at a giant spider-man, holding onto part of his soul. What came next was his blood curdling screams, as his body was placed together, The pain of being remade by another Gods hands becoming too much for Logan to bare. "What are you doing?!" The human wanted to say but couldnt find the words.

When it was all over, Logan was pulled back into what he could assume was his body. The Gods words ringing in his new ears. "You get one," it said before stabbing his shoulder with one of its pointy legs. The God spoke more words to the human of how it, and others, cared for him, while streams of what would look to be godly ink covered his shoulder. Then it turned into thousands of tiny spiders that crawled over Logan's body before disapearing into the open world.

Logan was laying on the ground and took deep breaths, trying to find his own that was lost, lost because of past events. Quickly he rose to his feet and unstrapped his vest that had the Dreadnaught symbol attatched to it. Then he began ripping off his undershirt so that he could have a good look at his shoulder. Where a stinging sensation originated from, laid a spider web tattoo, colored black and purple. "What the hell...." He whispered to himself.

["Dark"]

Rock, ash, tar and metal fractured the earth. Dark's soul could only glimpse the legions of spiders before his vision was jerked towards the sky. Something had grabbed around his throat, and he fought against it in desperation. Insanity tried to grab at anything from keeping himself being dragged towards the abyss that he knew he was going to. 'This isn't fucking right... I can't die. I CAN'T DIE he tried to reason with himself ten times more frightened than the human next to him. The former serial killer had plenty to fear Varius' realm of the dead, and even now he could hear their threats from the void the god of death stemmed from.

"Chaos...you know better" the arachne's voice boomed as pain slithered into Dark's soul. His own screams joined Logan's more out of fear as his physical body reformed every small portion of it burning like hot acid through him. Then a secondary piercing ache shocked his heart as his spark was thrusted back to him. Horrific images toyed with his senses, things in the abyss were speaking to him driving his terror even more up the wall. The swirling of black feathers brushed passed him...or was that the wind?

Again Varius got his attention,"You are one of our greatest... be the greatness you possess, not the pride you cling to...". Dark's mind could only process so much with his senses being overloaded; however that much he retained as the spider god disassembled into millions of smaller spiders and disappeared into the shadows, cracks, and crevices leaving Dark in a heap on the floor of rubble. His heart was pounding in his chest as he started to push himself up, the Ifrit's mind still lost to the surrealness of it all. The deep pangs of his right shoulder didn't bother him, but a sudden sickness hit him like a ton of bricks. He started vomiting ruddy brown blood and coughing a few times before expelling more. "S-Shit" he cursed for once sounding like a normal human who was nearly terrified to death. Slowly he looked around and started laughing to himself at his predicament. He failed to notice the human that had accompanied him.

[Logan Storm]

Logan saw the demon throw up its lunch and he got a little worried. His eyes moved to a clear pathway, then he began struggling to walk to that area. His arms met the ground only to push himself up as he continued. When he found himself leveled he touched his wrist with his other hand, then he began running, running faster than he could ever run. He became a blur to any that watched him, and he continued moving, his running pace getting even faster. Only once, did he find himself tripping over something because his body was too heavy for him to carry. He rolled on the ground, subjected to new pain, then picked himself up to keep running. He wouldn't stop running until time ran out, and once it did, he would touch himself again so that he would be able to move with incredible speed. He would not stop moving until he was as far away from this God as possible, even crossing South America if he had to.

[Nadja Shadowheart Uta]

Nadja appears and looks at Dark, "You got yourself killed? And marked. Smooth Dark. Really fucking smooth... thank you... for defending me." It wasn't like Nadja to actually thank someone.

["Dark"]

In his lapse of nearly upchucking his innards, the goth looked up from where he was. Logan was far gone by now but Dark was currently in too much a haze to react to his absence; the goddess of pain and pleasure loomed over him and all the man could do was stare at her for a long while before giving her a small smile. "Nadja? Where...the fuck? Why d--". He voice caught as he saw the street behind her suddenly dim, the street lamps bend on their own rather violently as everything in his mind started to wake up again. "No", he whispered. "No leave me. Leave me alone". Pressure built up in his chest as he felt the necessity to flee but his body could only lay there, paralyzed by fear as the darkness filled his vision. It wasn't long until the figure that was the goddess had vanished and Dark fell into yet another coma.

[Nadja Shadowheart Uta]

Nadja smiles at him one psycho to another. She takes his hand, "Let's go Dark." As always whenever she touched him there was a glow, her spark in him wanting him to hurt her for abandoning it. She looks at Dark, "Let's get you in my room." She knew he was comatose but she didn't care. Nadja and Dark vanish to her place in Baile Na Deithe.
