Death is just the beginning (Private)

[Varius Helviath]

Varius meditated in his domain as runes decorated the walls keeping everything except his prophet or herald out. Incense burned and the dead held up effigies of many individuals. Usually they were the actual soul being tortured by Varius' undead minions. Dark power glowed from his eyes as he chanted in a long dead language. When his prophet opened up his front door he summoned him in and sealed it behind him. "Good..." he said as he stretched his human looking legs out from his sitting criss-cross apple sauce. As his human legs stretched out they turned to his arachne form and he took shape, death taking over his form and he was his true self. "I have this task for one reason...." he spoke softly as he stepped to the side, a soul was being tortured and was without a face, masked and broken, "I need you to harbor this soul... carry it... use it if you will but you must keep it...." 

The god waited for a response before interacting with it or is prophet.

[Shi Kipa]

Kipa floated to his God's domain as he was instructed to. When he floated into the room, the door shut behind him, sealing itself. While Varius stood up, Kipa lowered himself. Varius WAS a king, after all; he deserved the respect that that position demanded. He watched and listened as his God moved and spoke. Once Varius was done saying what he wanted Kipa to do, Kipa questioned, "If I may, Shinigami-sama, why do you need me to watch this soul? I shall do it regardless, but souls are your realm, are they not? Would this soul not be safer in your own possession?" While Kipa was aware of at least some of the laws that Gods had to follow, he didn't understand why his God, the King of the Gods, would have to invoke the Law of Non-interference to protect something that is already under his gaze.

[Varius Helviath]

Varius looked bothered as he paced and started the process of releasing the soul to his prophet. "There are gods who do not listen. Gods that I am not allowed to control..." he groaned "king or not. I am forced to handle them with diplomacy unless I wish to suffer the same fate as my precursors." A soft grin crossed his face as he extended the soul to kipa. "This is the soul of lazarus. I trust it in your care. I refuse to let any if the gods touch it so I give it to you. Choose wisely wgat you do with it..." the line between test and task were starting to fade it seemed the more varius spoke.

[Shi Kipa]

Kipa was shocked to learn of the nature of the soul. He didn't quite understand the nature of the soul, or that beings could exist without them; as even his undead machinations, however unique or inane they are, required a soul. "Does this mean that the God of Sin has died? What does this mean for the regulation of the spread of sin throughout the world?" Things never went well when there was nothing to maintain control, and Kipa knew this. Countries would fall into disarray if a new ruler wasn't quickly established, so it made sense that he would be concerned about the infrastructure of sin and innocence if Lazarus wasn't replaced, if he had indeed perished.

[Varius Helviath]

Varius shook his head, "No... He is special... as the being currently in possession of the spark of sin... that soul holds it's place in his body...Sin passes from mortal body to mortal body... If this soul is returned to the current Lazarus, his body will feel the seven virtues as well as sins..." Varius stood close to Kipa and just stared at him for a long moment as he spoke, "The god will essentially have both sins and virtues within him, that is why we usually remove the soul." Walking past Kipa he sits down.

[Shi Kipa]

Kipa nodded in understanding. "That makes sense. As the God of Sin, he needs to be a personification of that aspect. Very well, now that I fully understand the importance of this situation, I am ready to take on this task." Kipa bowed his head in respect to his God.

This task was important. Not just for the sake of serving Varius, but for keeping the world in balance. If Lazarus or anyone that he could manipulate into doing his will managed to get a hold of that soul, it would destroy the balance of sinners and pure souls, which would also upset the reincarnation process. If Lazarus was no more, everything that Kipa specialized in would be upset. He could not allow that to happen.

[Varius Helviath]

Varius looks at the man and smiles, "It is yours do with what you will... if you put it in another body... the mortal that now houses sin will have a body once more... If you use it for a weapon... it will be destructive..." Standing up he frowned, "I'm being summoned..." looking at Kipa he smiled, "let's hope Elysia isn't simply summoning me to complain again." he laughed out as he got ready, unless Kipa had more to say or ask he would go see what Elysia had to say about Dametrius.
