"Honestly? A bunch of people who praise order and balance, while doing little to actually advocate it to those outside of their belief." He stated, saying it loud enough that he didn't have to turn to see her, or her almost objectifying stare. At this point, he was too busy thinking of a way to get out of paying the spider-riding Drow. It was HIS money, after all, why should HE lose out because he wasn't getting paid? Besides, losing money without bringing any in would create an imbalance in his checkbook, and that would be just blasphemous, would it not?

Arratar didnt seem terribly phased by Tekkan's explanation, though a look of annoyance eventually washed over her face. "what is this cargo you have to bring to that dragons temple anyway?" The woman was relentless, and it was funny to hear her speak of a god so nonchalantly, but she had seen him when he was just a young man as a town's guard. She did did not earn some amazing rank like the others, but sometimes she felt that there were mortals with more sense than gods. "Though if these people dont do anything its less peoples' faces i have to waste bullets on..."she murmured as she trotted along.

"Don't know, don't care." He answered truthfully. "My UNPAID job was to make sure that it got here without any incidents. Which, for the most part, I performed to the letter." A few minutes march by before he makes another remark, either deaf to what she said or too apathetic to care. "Honestly, I'm happy to have learned what I could from them when I did. It meant I had to spend as little amount of time as possible with those hypocratic saps. Really, I'm sure that if any dragon just marched up, claiming to be Shizukesa in disguise, they would empty the coffers for it!" At this point, it should be fairly clear to her that he didn't particularly care for those who tended the temple. Sure, he wasn't ALWAYS as balanced and orderly, but what was true balance and order without some imbalance and chaos to compare it to?

The drow shook her head/ "Yes because theres simple PILEs of dragons all over." the drow just kept on scuttling ong on her massive spider, looking generally annoyed "Theres far too little i nthe way of stimulation. Where is the fun if there is no resistance?" she exclaimed. Of course Arratar would require something like that and not be thankful for the lack of resistance.

"Fair enough." He replied, balancing the mace atop the decorative piece on his helmet before fusing them together out of boredom. "What do you care about resistance? You're getting paid either way. You'll get paid even more for whatever it is when you take it." His new helmet-mace jingled add hr turned his head to talk to her, although he continued walking. "To be honest, I don't care what you do with it once it's there. I've realized two things while we've been walking. One is that I owe nothing to these temples. Whatever baubles they collect are to further the name of their temple, NOT Shizukesa. The other thing is: I was only hired to get it there. Whatever happens after the fact is out of my hands." He winked at her before turning his head back forward, leaving it forward slightly to allow his weapon to fall into his hand.

Arratar just glowered at the bronzed man. "I like resistance because a bunch of twits just standing around getting shot is only funny for a little bit, Then it gets dull." The woman seemed to be set on frowning the entire way there but then he pointed out how he didn't care what happened once he did his job. It gave her too man lovely nad terrible ideas "Wait...so , what I gather is you wish to serve your god, but dont feel these offerings are for anything but selfish reasons and dont care ifsomeone takes them off their hands?"

"That about sums it all up. They don't really care about order, otherwise they'd be going out & practicing what they constantly prattle on about. Besides, true order needs a little chaos. Otherwise, people will lose sight of what order gives them. I understand it, but the people who taught me don't. They'd just as soon suck the sweat off Shizukesa's left testicle rather than actually go out and talk to people and SHOW THEM what order is!" Despite the wild nature he had shown around her, he embodied the order and balance rather well, finding time to be both orderly and chaotic.

Aratar snorted. She looked out over the terrain which as far as she could see, was plains, with some forets beyond that and a hint of civilization on the hills beyond. This..was going to be a long trip, she had to tolerate the man until she would get some loot. "Well i met that dragon before, a long time ago, and hes so damn stubborn and obnoxiously noble than i doubt he would give two shits about some sycophants." the drow patted Cupcake to motivate the massive spider to keep trotting along. "Its not as if i care though, ut looting, that i could get into so, how much longer?"

"Aren't most dragons like that? I mean, that's where the term 'draconian' comes from, does it not?" Tekkan looked around in stride before answering her. "Well, unless my memory's shot, we've got at least another four hours on foot. If we flew, however, we could get there in about half that time. You probably don't want to do that, though. I can tell that you wouldn't exactly like the idea of me having my hands on you for two hours." He was well aware of what the suggestion sounded like, he just didn't care if she squirmed or not. After all, it was because of her that his coffers were going to be emptied.

Arratar fumed in a silent stiff way like she might just explode. "Im not flying my ship near an order god's temple. Either they swarm me and i reduce everything to a crater and piss off a god or i don't murder them all and we both get screwed over. No thank you." the drow huffed."And i have a spider. Its YOU who is walking." she added. Perhaps most of it was not wanting her twitchy trigger finger to mess up the quest but it could also be that if she was on her ship she was stuck on it with this Tekkan man. While he was cute he was infuriating and that would not do in an enclosed space.

"In case you haven't noticed, I'm already being screwed by this deal. I'm LOSING money by having you in on this little venture!" He pointed a gauntlet-clad, accusing finger at her. "They're not paying me a damned penny for this! Said it was a 'service for our God,' the cheapskates!" He glared at her with hate-filled eyes. Although it wasn't directly pointed at her, it was obvious that he blamed her for at least part of it. He stared at her for a good minute before turning around and continuing his brisk pace. "Let's keep going. The faster I'm done dealing with those hypocrites, the better."

Arratar smirked and kept on trotting along on her massive spider."Well to be selfless enough to do it without pay is admirable, knowing youre being screwed over, bu WHINING isnt helping your case so stop it so i can get some shinies!" After another ten minutes of walking the woman shouted. "SCREW THIS!" she reached out to grasp the man by his upper left arm. She seemed dead-set on hoistin him up onto the mega spider by herself. "Get on. I cant tolerate a straight four hours of this!"

He stood there for a moment with her pulling on his arm before he realized what she was trying to do. "Gods, woman, I can get myself up!" He quips, hoisting himself up onto the hulking spider.

After a surprisingly short amount of time, he seemed to be showing little, if any, emotion. If asked, he would explain that it was technique that he was taught by the priests of Shizu, so that he could look at any given situation from an objective, orderly viewpoint. His voice was surprisingly flat, despite how riled up he was only a few minutes ago.

With the help of the massive spider it didnt take -too- long for the pair to reach the temple, which was in a valley that contained a waterfall that poured out into a crystal clear pool. It was a gorgeous lush peaceful place and like always had an element of water to it to symbolize his tranquil ways, but the psychophants within would likely infuriate him, perhaps loyal Tekkan could expose this. The drow looked upon it and groaned. "There,thats it right? Now i can get PAID!"

"Yes, that's it, the Gods forsaken place." He confirmed, the second half of his sentence was said under his breath. "And to be clear, the only 'payment' you're getting right now is whatever I was ordered to protect. You honestly think I would keep my money within 50 MILES of these hypocritical assholes?" At this point, it was almost worth paying her so he had a soap box to preach on to the ones who claimed to know balance and order.
